We had a "superior spacious suite" — three double beds, lots of space, and a big bathroom. It was *great* for a family, and would be a very economical choice for a group of friends traveling together. Breakfast was included, and was excellent; in addition to the traditional Nordic choices of cheese, meat, fruit, yogurt, cucumbers, tomatoes, and bread, there were pastries, eggs, American bacon, sausages, etc. Access to the spa was also included in our room rate and was a wonderful way to spend a few hours after checkout before going to the airport. It is a SPA, and not a pool: we loved the hot soaking tub and the floating pool, and were so thankful the age limit is 16 and older. It's tranquil and relaxing. As a note: the Flybus from the airport will bring you directly to this hotel. You switch from the large bus at BSI Terminal to a smaller bus. We were at the hotel less than an hour after departing the airport.

The hotel as a whole was amazing and clean. I wish I had asked the names of all the staff from the reception to the kitchen everyone deserves merit as they exceeded any reservations I had. Absolutely lovely people and very welcoming!! The breakfast was great value and had everything I needed from eggs, pastries, coffees, yoghurts, cereals but I dont think it had any vegan options other than milk so if you’re vegan maybe that’s something you should keep in mind :( for dinner however, I do think they had a couple vegan/veg options to which I had a soup and burger which was the best burger I had, had in a moment. The spa is very nice and it is quite small so, the best time might be when it’s less crowded but it was very nice and clean. I wish I had a massage done but I didn’t have time unfortunately :( Lastly as for location it was 40 minutes away from the airport by car.

My family stayed in Hotel Island for one night, and my friends traveling with us stayed there for 3 nights. All of us liked this hotel. Our room was very clean and was the most spacious one among all the hotels we stayed in Iceland during a week long trip. The bed was very comfortable, the bath room has a good size and was also clean. The hotel breakfast is fabulous, it offers a good number of healthy and tasty vegetables, fruits, breads, and drinks. I definitely recommend it. The hotel staff were friendly and professional, helped with many of my small questions. The location is also convenient, it's one of the pickup locations of our guided tour and also next to quite a few restaurants. The Reykjavík. botanical garden and zoo park is within a few minutes walk. We just found out this on the last day of our stay in Reykjavík. and really enjoyed a nice walk in the park.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Island. The staff at the front desk and the housekeeping people were awesome. The rooms were decent size, enough room for a family of 4 (two teenage daughters). The bedding and linen were excellent quality. We also used the spa, which was included with our room rate, and loved it! The restaurant has good food and cocktails. The restaurant manager from Hungary, is a super nice gentleman. The other staff, Miranda, Matilda and another bartender(can't remember her name) were delightful! The location is about 10 minutes to downtown, we had a car which is a must when visiting Iceland so we had no issues. I'd definitely recommend this hotel if you're traveling with the family, it's a good option compared to staying in downtown Reykjavik.

We were a group of 3 friends, stayed for 4 nights in early April, could not fault hotel one bit, was very clean, large spacious room, very comfortable beds, delicious food, very friendly and helpful staff. Did contemplate switching hotels as is slightly out of town but was a lovely 20mins walk along the scenic sea path with sculptures and mountain views. Spa was small but very relaxing, separate saunas in female and male changing rooms, communal hot tub and small swimming area. Tour busses and transfers drop off and pick up from this hotel. Thoroughly recommend and would definitely rebook for another visit.
